Get to know Eden: 5 questions with Michael Bowen

Following a successful internship in Eden’s US office, Michael “Mike” Bowen is now a Project Coordinator in Eden’s US office. With an educational background in Sustainable Energy Management from SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry, Mike is excited to  have a more permanent role in the team and help Eden exceed the sustainability goals set by New York State.

Eden: Talk to me about your first day with the company.

Mike: I started as an intern on Valentine's Day and I remember being enthused to finally be pursuing a career that is relevant to my degree in Sustainable Energy Management from SUNY ESF.  I took part  in some of my first meetings to learn about our current development projects and virtually ‘met’   everyone in the US office.

Eden: What do you like most about being a Project Coordinator?

Mike: I most enjoy being able to work with the team on projects that are helping New York state achieve its goal of 50% renewable energy by 2030 and actively working to decarbonize my home state.

Eden:  What are three words you’d use to describe Eden Renewables?

Mike: Goal-oriented, sustainable, and community-outreaching.

Eden: What do you like to do on your days off?

Mike: I enjoy a multitude of outdoor activities including hiking, camping, and fishing.  When I have less time I enjoy playing basketball, frisbee, or relaxing at home.

Eden: Any random or interesting facts you could share with us?

Mike: This year I've been lucky to have many new experiences.  I learned how to ski during the winter, I went to visit family in Texas which was my first time there, and I was able to spend time exploring Colorado last month summitting my first 14,000ft (4267m) mountain!
