Solar Power Education
Eden Renewables is bringing low cost natural power to your community -- and taking classrooms to our community solar farms.
Our approach is holistic, and we work to ensure that the communities living and working near our solar farms receive the advantages of locally generated, clean power. Each solar development benefits from a ring-fenced allocation of at least a few thousands a year for our Solar Power Education Program during the lifetime of the solar farm. This starts at the outset of the permitting process.
With our Solar Power Education Program, students have the chance to learn beyond the school grounds, gain knowledge and ‘hands on’ and ‘minds on’ experiences in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) subjects. Children will learn about the benefits of renewables, carbon consumption, the impact of climate change, environmental stewardship.
Our goal is for local schools to embed these opportunities into their day-to-day learning, and for children to gain greater awareness as consumers and to aspire to careers in Green STEM, jobs that benefit the environment or conserve natural resources.
Here are ways how your school can benefit from this program:
Field Trips & Workshops: Using these allocated funds, we will coordinate with nearby schools to deliver field trips to our community solar farms.
One-Time Solar Study Project: This program is designed to maximize the opportunity the solar farm development covers. It follows the development as it goes through planning and construction.
Additional Resources Eden Renewables may be able to provide schools with speakers specializing in biodiversity or renewable energy, and equipment to help link your science with the solar farm (e.g. solar cells and circuit sets).
